Giovanni Antonio Amadeo designed the Colleoni Chapel, which Bartolomeo Colleoni commissioned as his own mausoleum. It stands in the square of Bergamo Cathedral, next to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. Work is dated 1470 to 1476, though the article notes the start is disputed, with notarial documents pointing to 1472. Colleoni died in 1475 and was buried in the unfinished monument in January 1476.

The article calls the style Lombard Renaissance, rooted in the Middle Ages. The facade has polychrome marble inlays, a rose window and nine bas-relief panels. An octagonal tambour, segmented dome and lantern form the roof, and a gilded wooden equestrian statue of Colleoni stands above.

Tiepolo painted frescoes on the pendentives, lunettes and dome in 1732 and 1733. An inspection in 1969 found Colleoni's coffin in the lower sarcophagus.
