Giovanni Antonio Viscardi designed the Bürgersaalkirche in Munich, which was built in 1709 and 1710. It has an upper church on the upper floor and a lower church on the lower floor, and its Baroque facade reflects that division. A figure of the enthroned Madonna and Child stands above the entrance.

The altar was consecrated on May 13, 1778, after which the building became known as the Bürgersaalkirche. The upper-floor prayer room has been used as a church since then. The Marian Men Congregation Annunciation uses it as its prayer and meeting room.

Ignaz Günther's 1763 sculpture of the Guardian Angel with child is a masterpiece of the interior. A relief by Andreas Faistenberger from 1710 survives from the former high altar, which World War II destroyed. The grave of Rupert Mayer lies on the lower floor.
