Rafael Viñoly designed the tower, with SLCE Architects as architect of record. Macklowe Properties developed it, and CIM Group bought the site in January 2010 and kept Harry Macklowe as a partner. Above-ground construction began in May 2012, it topped out on October 10, 2014 and was completed on December 23, 2015.
It rises 1,396 feet (425.5 m) to the tip, with a slenderness ratio of about 15:1. The infobox says 85 stories, the text 84. The facade is a lattice of poured white Portland cement with 10-foot-square openings. A 30-by-30-foot concrete core and two tuned mass dampers of about 600 short tons each, placed between floors 86 and 89, steady the tower against wind.
The article lists unit counts of 122, 125 and 147. Residents reported leaks, cracks and elevator entrapment in high winds, and the condo board sued CIM and Macklowe in 2021, alleging about 1,500 flaws. The article does not state the outcome.
