The building has two parts. Warren and Wetmore designed Steinway Hall, a 16-story building that opened on October 27, 1925, and its facade and rotunda are New York City landmarks. SHoP Architects designed the residential tower above it for the developers JDS Development Group and Property Markets Group. Its facade was designed by BuroHappold.
The infobox and lead give a height of 1,428 feet (435 m). The body gives the roof slab at 1,257 feet (383 m) and the pinnacle at 1,424 feet (434 m). The tower has 84 stories above ground, and its top floor is numbered 91. Completion is given as 2022 in the text and 2021 in the lead. The article calls the tower neo-Art Deco.
It has a concrete frame, a glass curtain wall with glazed terracotta piers and bronze mullions, and a tuned mass damper. Steinway Hall's facade uses Indiana limestone, brick and terracotta. The tower has about 45 units.
